Alright guys. Its time to start on my car finally and alittle baffled on what would sound the best. I have a pretty flexible budget. nothing too crazy.
Right this second, I have a old school hifonics VII Jupiter 4 channel running my mids and highs. 6.5 Polk Coaxials in the doors, and infinity reference? 4" coaxials in the dash. I have a 1/2 din old school 9 band pioneer EQ under my Alpine deck. the speakers really need to be upgraded, as most of the speakers are getting older and the tweaters are way harsh... also, i have little to no midbass. I will be dampening the doors when i do this BTW.
I really would like to keep using this amp as ive come to really love it... probably one of the best all-around 4 channel amps ive ever had..
specs for it are:
4 x 35W @ 4 ohms (11.5 to 16V - 0.02% THD)
4 x 60W @ 2 ohms (11.5 to 16V - 0.15% THD)
2 x 120W @ 4 ohms bridged (11.5 to 16V)
these are very underrated, ive had a old school fosgate 160x4 in the car with a birthsheet at 72w per channel and this thing is way louder/cleaner.
Now, Right now the car is wired for two amps, and id really "Rather" not add another right now as space is at a real premium already (Mustang Convertible). Id like to do a PG RSD 6.5" componet set, but i feel like i would need to bridge the amp to give it enough power... then im left with only the Comp set running my mids/highs. I could run the comp set off the front 2 channels of the amp.. but im not sure its enough power.
I can just replace the 4 speakers with newer/better coaxials, but i feel like i will be hurting tremendously in the Midbass dept... like i am now.
Id love some ideas on this... just replace all the speakers? Run comp set off front 2 channels? (i know this amp HAS to do over 50w rms per) bridge the amp and just run the comp set till i get another small 2 channel amp wired up?
