Help me, I'm a noob

Alright, I'm new to the forum and very new to installing car audio. I can hook up regular speakers and all but when it comes to subs, amps, etc. I have no clue. So, I have a few questions....

How do I know how big of an amp I need for a sub? I understand some of it's preference and all but is it possible to underpower or overpower a sub?

Also, if I have a 2 channel amp is there a way I can use it to amp both of my door speakers and my sub?

These should get me started I'm sure I will have more later on.

You'll need a channel of amplification for each speaker you want to amplify, so no, a 2ch isn't going to cut it.

As far as power goes... look for amp that make about the same amount of power as the speakers you're connecting them to are rated for.

Do a lot of reading here and learn as much as you can before going any farther.

if you want to look into doing a single amp. you could try out a 3 channel amp or 5 channel amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

dont jump in and buy a bunch of shit thats garbage, just because its convenient. Learn like hell, take your time, and get something decent the first time, instead of learning a month later and wanting to upgrade and get rid of your junk

Just read through the forums

http://www.bcae1.com is good too
