Help me finish my system; hardware choices & what to buy?

Well let me give you the Reader's Digest version. I've been out of the game for awhile & want to get back in with a nice system. I work in outside sales so I can spend up to 10 hours a day in my car. I want a system to help me enjoy that time.

I have already decided on these parts:

SI Mag D2 12" sub

OZ ME 180CS comps

eD Nine.1

Diamond Audio 3 400.4

With that in mind I need to make a decision as to what kind of HU I should use. A good amount of time I can end up sitting in my car for an hour or two waiting on an apointment, so I am wondering if an in dash monitor would be a good investment. It has been suggested I get an Elite 880 for the active 3 way EQ and auto time alignment and you know the rest. I am unsure of which direction to go and what alternatives I may need to look at. Please share you opinions & give reasons, b/c I am born again new to car audio.

Also, I will be paying someone to install the system locally most likely, but I want to buy the cables & stuff on my own for a good price. They don't need to be super cheap, but I want a good deal, ya know? Do I need a cap and, if so, which ones should I check out given my hardware? Anything else I haven't thought of & need to know?

avic z1 for the head unit.. or the avic n3. as far as a cap goes, just upgrade your battery.

Reason for those h/u's is that since it sounds liek you drive alot... and would seem like its some out-of-town driving, now you'll have nav and video..

avic z1 is incredible. it does everything.

Pretty much everything. What about cables & install stuff? What all do I need?

Oh and is there anywhere to get an AVIC for less than like $1400???

After further investigation, it would seem the AVIC Z1 is a double DIN? If so, I definitely couldn't use that.

I have a 1998 TransAm and a budget of between $500-3000+.

Well I really like the AVIC-Z1. is there anything that offers the hard drive & some of the other features and isn't a double DIN sized unit? What about those old N1,2, & 3's?

There is a single din dvd somewhere, its a smaller screen, but theres a NAV hook up for it, and the screen is **** clear. one of the phat hertz guys have it. its sblazer or tommy that has it....i wanna say its tobias.

my buddy has a n2 and loves it.he even had a clarion 745 sitting at his house.

he got the back-up cam.,voice module and the unit for alittle over 1200 off ebay!
