I'm looking for an amp with a specific set of specs, and I figure you guys might have some suggestions. I'm wanting to upgrade the audio system while retaining the stock look, the amp will need to drive a pair of 5 1/4" coaxials and a pair of 6 1/2" subs (SVC, 4ohm)
I need an amp that has:
4 channels, bridgeable so I can put the subs on a single bridged channel
either 2ohm mono stable, or with enough power for the 2 subs wired at 8ohm
the subs will need at least 100w apiece, 200w at 8ohms is hard to come by, and honestly I'd like to have 320 - 400w at 8 ohm
speaker level inputs would be convenient so I don't have to wire in spkr-rca adapters
low pass crossover on one pair of channels for the subs
high pass crossover on the other pair for the coaxials
I really want to keep the headunit stock, so I'll be relying on the amplifier to do the things that aftermarket headunits are usually used for (rca outputs, crossovers) and I would prefer to keep the number of installed pieces to a minimum (no external crossovers, EQs, again would prefer not to have to put in high level - RCA adapters)
any ideas on a amp that will fit the bill? or other possible options? this will be going in a Jeep TJ and I want the install to be completely inconspicuous - stock HU, front speakers in stock location, behind the stock grills and the subs will be going in the soundbar to eliminate the need for a visible sub box. I'll be hiding the amp and wiring and using something like the USA Spec pa11 to integrate control of an ipod into the stock stereo controls (and hiding the ipod hookup in the center console of course)
