Help me find a way to wire this Amp to sub

alpine mrv-f545

125Wx4@4-ohms

250Wx4@2-ohms

and 500Wx1@4-ohms with channels 3-4 bridged.

to alpine type X ( dual 4ohms )

this is what i am stuck with i know this isnt simple

the perosn who i bought this said that he had the amp running the type X bridged but when i looked at the numbers it didnt add me because briding the amp is 4ohms - 500rms but the subwoofer is dual 4ohms meaning that its 2ohm sub.

so he must of ran the sub at 2ohm bridged but i cant find anywhere where it says if its 2ohm stable bridged or not it just says 4ohms bridged 500rms x 1

so what can i do

Check this wiring site out you can run those speakers in 4ohm load, with that amp.

how do you figure? you can only wire it to 2 or 8

Thought he meant two type x - 4 Ohm DVC

yes its a single 10in Type X dual 4ohms

and amp is 500rms x 1 at 4ohms

CAn i just power one voice coil and give it 500rms and not touch the 2nd coil if this is the only way to give the sub 500rms ?

you have to split the sub's rating across the vc's....if you want to power one, then the rms is cut in half

wouldnt wireing one VCs (+) to the other VCs (-) together and then putting the empty (+) and (-) to the amp give him a 4ohm load?

on a dual 4 that would yield 8 ohm load.....called wiring in series

well he might as do that since the sub is 1000rms he would be giving it 500rms it would be perfect

if the wrms is 1000 then yes...one vc is 500

if you have access to a 2 channel that does 500wrms at 4ohm, then each vc can be wired to its own channel

ok so do i juts leave the VC not touched ?

and just wire my amp ( 4ch ) amp first and 2nd chanles are for speakers

and 3/4 bridged give 500rms at 40hms

so i will wire that to One of the Voice coils on the sub and leave the other voice coil completely free ?
