Well i am making a deal with a fellow Truck Club Member....

My 12 and slim box for his box and cash....

sooo i need some suggestions for my soon to be box....

I will be doing 500w x 1 @ 4 ohms.....

in this box....

Pioneer Premier 12" DVC @ 4ohm each. All i can think of.

Small problem.

4 x 2 = 8 ohm

4 \ 2 = 2 ohm

I think he needs a dual 8 ohm or dual 2 ohm sub.

If i don't go with this set up, i know they are completly different setups, i was thinking 2 8s. RE are DVC 4ohm correct? So i could get 2ohms out of one?

You guys are forgetting about the r, they come dual 2

His box (1.56 cu ft) is a little small for the type-R (1.7 cu ft) but it might still be OK. Not sure what the speaker's displacement is though..

EDIT - displacement is .071 cu ft

EDIT2 - Wait, I just noticed the website of the enclosure says "Ported Chamber Volume: 1.56 cu.ft."

Does this mean 1.56 cu ft after taking in consideration the vent displacement? If so then this box is actually 0.26 cu ft bigger than the one alpine recommends.

How much of a difference would this make on performance or reliability/lifetime of the speaker?
