My brake lights are not working all of a sudden. They work when you turn the headlights on, so I know that the problem does not lie with the actual tail light. I keep blowing fuses labeled under 'brake switch'. I'll replace the fuse, press the brake, the lights come on for a split second, the the fuse pops. I replaced the brake switch, its still blowing fuses. What else could be the problem?

dang, I was gonna use the usual answer, the fuse....but I guess its not so easy this time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif sorry

I was real confident it was the brake switch, I mean it's the brake switch that is blowing the fuses in the fuse box! But I guess I was wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

there's a short in the electrical... check the spot in the back ( 5th door) rubber boot that protects the wires.. ive seen some dry rot and short out in some older cars door jambs ( spechialy the drivers side..)

when you press the brake switch it completes the circuit witch is +. anything grounded in the circuit will cause a fuse to blow..

He's right i had this problem with my blazer the taillight had some water in it causing a short.

Ok, well I'll check the tail light connections, see if anything in there looks bad. If not, I'll be back asking more questions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yay, I figured out the problem. My driver's side tail light was causing the short. I unplugged the harness going to that, and everything is working perfect on the other tails. So I guess I just need a new tail light. Thanks for the help!
