I originally wanted to run 2 BL 18's for my next setup but after crunching some numbers and screwing around in sketchup I really can't make an ideal box without either A. building it in the vehicle or B. removing the back seats.

My next thought was then a single 9518. Either setup would be ran off a rubicon 2500d.

Basically, if I were to run the 2 BL's, assuming I use a slot port I am looking at 14 cubes gross and ~5 cubes net for each. If i go with the 9518, i would do something like 6.5 - 7 cubes net.

The real question is, am I going to notice a difference in running the single 9518 or the 2 BL's? with the 9518 I can get an ideal box size and push it more to it's limits with the 2.5k rather than the 2 BL's off 1.25k each. if i had more power I wouldn't bother asking this but from what i've heard it seems that if i wanted to run a smaller box i would need more power

why not do aeros instead of slot? save yourself some room for the bl's. or are aeros not an option?

$ is probably the option with 6" aero's... $40/ea or so is not cheap. I'd do the two 18's. Like CRX said they aren't exactly cheap, plus I'm not a huge fan of the aero port look. While boxes with aeros are easier to make I'm a fan of the conventional look.

It comes down to being price vs. performance. Say I can find 2 BL 18's on here for $500 + shipping (which I think is being quite generous price wise lol) or a 9518 for $375 + shipping. I'm going to need 2-3 aeros so thats like $120 extra right there, which means for the BL's im paying almost $700 after shipping. So then the price for the 9518 is about half that, but I'm curious if the single DD will out perform the BL's because a single sub is gonna get 2500w, rather than 2500w getting split up.

Why the BL and not go to the BTL? Is there a price difference between the 9518 and an 18" BTL? Go with 1 BTL since you were thinking of using a FI driver already

yeah aeros add up quick. my 6" was 30+ shipping. so came out to be like 42 for one.
