Help Me Decide...L7 vs. G5

first off the MTX 7500 **** at the lows. ive had one if about 5 differnt boxes ranging from 1.5 cu ft sealed to 3 cu ft sealed, and 1.8 cu ft ported at 38, to 2.8 cu ft ported at 36. the only way it would hit low was 3 cu ft sealed, and the out put was OK. 2 cu ft a 40 was what sound the best all around for that driver.
the G5 is an amazing driver. great sound quality and very good out put. im willing to bet a g5 ported or with a rad will be louder and be cleaner then ANY kicker sealed. the L7 blow goats sealed, easpcialy that small of a box. i would think it would need something over 2 cu ft to be able to have any good or acceptable SQ.

im gonna try to get 2 g5's. do u think 2 g5's would sound pretty **** good in a 2 cu ft sealed box? and maybe when i get some more money i can get to pr's and cut some holes in my box.

i have one g5 in my regal and i absolutely love the SQ but it still gets plenty loud in the 130 db range...2 g5s would get real loud

thats a good idea. if your pleased with the out put of the dual sealed g5s, leave em, if ya want more, install the two rads. a pair of good 12s on 1000watts sealed should please most however!

I'd take the G5 any day. My favorite sub to date. They sound amazing and can still beat your ears in when you feel it necessary. Efficient as hell too

I'd keep the MTX's, sell the Memphis amp, and get a bigger amp. For one, you are downgrading by going from two subs to one. Also, those two subs can't even be compared, totally different class from another. The G5 is an SQ driver, from my understanding. The L7 is geared towards SPL.

Build yourself a real box for the 7500's, get someone to built you a box tuned to 32 -35 Hz and make sure it is correct airspace the sledgehammer box is probbaly a bit small and tuned high for SPL purposes - those are great subs that you have just get a new box for them.
