Now that I have all the money im starting to question what I should do for my setup. Right now I can run 2 10" l7's (which i already have) and 2 hifonics bx605 amps. The amps should cost around 300. On the other hand. I can buy another l7 and bring them down to 1.34ohms and run a hifonics tx1505d amp. Any suggestions.

Long story short...which one to choose?

2 l7's with 600rms each

3 l7's with ~450-500rms each

Im guessing that would be about the right rms for the 3 being that they would be at 500 each plus that extra .3 ohm load?

Hifonics is pretty much all I can afford thats why im looking at their stuff. As for enclosure im looking to go ported. Overall im looking to put something together thall pound pretty hard for what it is.

have you looked into directed or viper? you said you have $300 to spend on an amp? a pg tantrum 1200.1 has been selling for about that on the forums. if they are gonna be ported go with the 3 L7's ported.

Im not trying to make this come across in a smartass sense. I think im maybe missing the whole idea on how the powering works? That kicker amp you posted seemed like one hell of a deal but is that really going to get me the power I need? Being that the subs are rated at 600rms each and just that one amp its self puts out 600rms.

Edit...I read the specs wrong. Would be a good choice but the only problem is that I bought dual 2ohm subs. Or is there a way to get them down to 1 ohm w/o adding another?

get two..one for each L7 dual 2's and bridge each amp to give each L7 ~600... (if your electrical is up to it..)

or

Those profile california amps seem like a good deal. If you guys think theyre a good deal I believe I may just go with those and not buy another sub. Also do these amps have the subsonic filter needed for the ported box?

Or seeing that you guys like viper's a lot I found the 600x1 (rmaed though) for 115.

If you like Profiles look @:http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm The MSX600 would run 2 good if you wire each sub's voice coils in series, but both subs in parallel (2ohm load) or you could get the CL800 or CA800, and give each sub 300w with it's own voice coils in parallel giving a 2 ohm load. Cheapest prices yet, 1 year warranty on a factory refurb.

why? he could just get the AP2000 and bridge it...(if he gets D4's) and get ~480W ea sub...yes 300 vs 480 isnt a huge jump but i bet hewould notice the difference..if i didmy quick math right he'd only see around 1.6dB difference...but w/e...both amps will work

the AP2000 has a SSF; MSX series does not have SSF (helluva price tho..$59 bucks refurb but still..) id get the AP

Price was why I recomended it. It's close in wattage, and most external crossovers have a ssf, just a suggestion man, hard to pay twice as much for a 15% increase in wattage (roughly- my math skills ****) and a subsonic filter.

well the AP puts out over double the power so not seeing this 15%...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif(given you mean the 600MSX vs AP2000) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif lol its cool mang

that is one nice price tho if i only had some nice comps and needed an amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

My math does ****, but last time I checked double 300=600, not 480. I guessed the difference between 300 and 480 to be approx. 15-20%
o shhiizzeett...I thot you were saying going from the total power..wow..I am //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif you were right man..wow i feel stupid...no wonder i have a B in calculus...
