HELP! I think I shorted my whole system

Last nite when I was hooking up the remote and speaker wires to my tweeter amp, two of them made contact and suddenly all of my amps turned off. The head unit continued playing the cd, but none of the amps are working now. I heard a short sound when the wires touched that sounded like a fuse popping maybe? What should I do? Also, the headunit stays on now even when the car is off! It will drain my battery for sure. Please help!

No, I did not disconnect the battery when I was doing it, which was stupid. I was simply connecting the remote and speaker wires and they accidentally touched. When you say check the fuse, which fuse? Is it on the headunit itself or on the fuse panel for the car?
