Ok so i was going to install an aftermarket hu on my 2001 accord and so i took out the factory one then i bought the wireing harness because i couldnt figure out the wire colors and after that i connected everything properly but it still wont turn on? so then i returned everything like it was from factory with everything like it was to see if it was the aftermarket hu but it still didnt turn on. Is this normal or is there like a code in the cars computer that disables the stereo power after the factory one is removed? how do i fix it?

my radio and gauges all work and everything is connected like it originally was but the hu still wont turn on.i havent checked the fuse but is there another fuse besides the one on the head unit? if so where it is and what is it called?

Ok so i checked the fuses and they are all ok and the radio doesnt say anything it just doesnt turn on at all. Also checked for the fuse labeled "radio" but there is none. I used crimping couplers to join the cables since i cut them, could it be that the metal they are made of doesnt form a bond electrically between the two ends?

when first installing a HU you need to press the power button on the HU in order for the HU to start up, it wont come on by itself if its just being started up

i agree with blue93corsica 100% also, another thing that will help you to hook it up is to be looking at the stock h/u because it should have wire tails still, and it should have a wire guide stamped onto the unit itself. I know about this because of my car.. 93 cutlass ciera, and the colors are all messed up. Nothing like the normal you see like red black blue green w/line purple w/line gray w/line white w/line. mine were like yellow, light yellow, green, gray, dark gray, red yellow black orange. The only way i could figure it out was to look at the diagram on the stock h/u and looking in the manual for my cd player and matching them up. It may take longer this way, but it is the safest way to do it. And yes, some cars have codes that you need in order to unlock the cd player.

Make sure you connected your radio's main power wire up to something that provides enough amps for it to turn on, 15amps is best. You probably want to do this to distro under the hood or the battery for best results. I had the same problem, I hooked mine up to a wire that came with the factory radio it wouldn't turn on untill I connected it up to a 15amp power wire.

The fuse will not be labeled "radio" itself.Your fusebox should have numbers under the fuses, look in your manual for the fuse box diagram, it'll tell you what all of the fuses are for.It will give you the location of the fuse (in numbers) in the fuse box. Example: 27. 15A Radio, domelight, AC controls

You get the idea, check that fuse.

thanks for the help guys but still no luck, concept 1153 are you saying i need to connect my radio to another wire or something? i mean i checked all the fuses and even relays and they are all working good. Could i need to reset the system or something?
