hi guys,

im about to order my amp ( ppi 1800.1 ) it calls for a 160amp fuse.

ok were to start......

right now i have 4ga run to my rf amp and 8ga to my 6x9 amp. so i have 2 runs from battery to back of truck.

now the ppi calls for 1/0 wire and external fuse.

im trying to figure out what i need to order ( like blocks/ fuse holders , ect.. )

now do i have to run 2 fueses on this 1/0 wire ? ( 1 at batter and the other at amp ? )

see im confused and what to do.

but heres the kicker i plan on getting 2 more ppi amps ( PPI BK120.2 and Precision Power PPI BK210.2 )

You need a 0 gauge kit. And a distro block

is that 1/0 ? or is there a 0ga ?

see im new at this.

also with that amp do i put a fuse at battery and amp ?

with all 3 amps i want it adds up to 205a so what size fuse do i need at battery ?

im just confused on what to get/do with this setup.

1/0 is the same as 0 gauge, just different names. If none of the amps you are running have internal fuses, and the amperage adds up to 205, you can run a 250a (external fuse at battery).

ya that what im trying to figure out as the 1800 takes a 160a ( external ) the other 2 amp have internal fuses. 1 amp takes a 25a the other takes 20a fuse.

so i was thinking a 250a at battey the 1/0 to a distro. block with 2 inputs and 3 out-puts. the 1 out-put putting a 160a ? right at the amp.

does that sound right ?

Don't worry about the amps fusing. Opposed to the wires fusing. The fusing on the wire protects the wire not amp so with that being said you won't or shouldn't have issues with a 250 amp fuse by the battery. Then fuse the distro blocks out puts accordingly for the wire used there

ok that makes cents.

i have another ?

down the road i plan on getting another 1800rms amp and as said it takes 1/0 wire.

so running 2 big amp should i run 2- 1/0 from battery back ? or will 1- 1/0 be fine.

Depends in the amps and wire you use

ok when done i will have 2- ppi 1800.1 amps // 1 ppi bk120.2 and a ppi bk210.2 amp.

so thats 4 total amps.

the 1800 say 1/0 ,, the other 2 smaller amp take 8ga.

the 2 smaller amps have fuses on amp. the 2 biggers amps take 160 external fuse.

so im just trying to get what i need now so when i get the other 1800 ill allready have the wireing ready for it.

that why i asked if i should run 2 - 1/0 wires from battery or will 1 - 1/0 be fine.

and if i run 2- 1/0 ill need 2 fuse holders for both wires and both would be 150a fused.

im just trying to do this right, the first time.
