Help, How to tune a Amp?

My local audio shop refuses to tune my amp for some reasion, so i need some help tuing it. Here is my setup A Alpine M350 Amp 12" JLW6 V1 sub in a ported box and a Alpine 9805 head unit. Now how would i go about tuing this setup. Also what setting schould be on the headunit ex. what frequncy for the bass?

here is my post from another thread

To tune and amp....

1. Set HU setting how u like them and how u would listen to them.

2. Make sure gain and bass boost is all the way down.

3. Turn the volume up on ur HU as high as u would listen to it

4. Start turning up the gain until u hear the subs distort or when u know its too much and theyr not getting any louder.

5. turn it bak down a bit

6. Set ur Xover(LowPass) how u like it, turned the Xover up too much will cause the subs to sound messy.

Dont use Bass boost it causes uneeded distortion but if u want to use a little bit if u feel it makes them sound better then use only 2+-4+db and ull need to turn the gain down a bit more.

on my amp it has Bass EQ is that the same thing as Bass Bosst? Alos on my HU what schould I set the bass Frquency to right now i have it at 100Hz and also the Trebel what is supposed to be at right now its at 15.0khz are these setting right?Also i have to almost turn the gain all the way up to get the sub to hit decent, will this hurt my sub or is just becuse of my small amp thats 350watts at 2ohm and my JLw6 is wired at 6ohm and handles 300RMS I am a newbie at car audio so I am a little slow at it like everthing else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif.

I have the same amp as you and I have my Audiobahn AWC12T Subwoofer wired at 2ohms and Gains on 3/4ths of the way up and it pounds!!!
