I have 2 12W3V3-4 in 1.065ft3 each one, and i dont know how can i make them sound better? what do you guys recommend me? (hertz) and how can I tune them? i have a Hifonics 1606 rms amp, and they are wired @ 2 ohms...

the jl audio recommended specs for sealed box, is 1.125f3

thanks

How can I tune the box? does 1.065ft3 will work with a ported box? even if jl recommended sealed enclosure is 1.125ft3? thats the space i can deal with in my singlecab truck for each subwoofer

Box is too small, as porting the existing box will only make it smaller.

Build a proper ported enclosure for them - plans for boxes that are already tuned are available in the "Enclosure Design" section of the forum.

33-39Hz is a good place to start.

i would keep them sealed it would definately sound much better. when you port the box it needs to be much bigger and you can't even fulfill the requirements of a sealed box

Thanks.. the thing here, is that the guy that installed my system, didnt measure the box correctly, actually, i bought 3 subs, he told me before i bought them that they would fit, but when he build the box, i wasnt able to lift the console in the middle of the seats, so, i had to take the middle sub out, each sub have 0.71ft3 right now, but im planning on sealing the big hole in the middle where the sub used to be, and that would give 1.065ft3 to each sub, i hope that would help because they dont sound nice at all right now... thanks for your advice

If each subwoofer is in it's own chamber, then:

a) there's no need to plug the third hole

b) the amount of airspace in each chamber will not change unless you knock out the chamber walls
