HELP. Front speakers blown! Want to replace with components speakers

Hello I am lookin for a SQ setup with component speakers in the front. I listen mostly to hip-hop/rap but I will also be listening to other music like rock/funk/breaks/trance/jazz/reggae

I am looking to spend around $200 on the speakers... so far my choice is the cdt classic's for $150..... before I was looking at the elemental designs edi6500's but the price went up to beyond my price range.... can anyone recommended me some other models to look at? I do understand I will need an amp for ideal performance thats why my budget is around the $200 mark for just the speakers. Help me out, I'll answer any other questions needed!

EDIT: BTW, I already have a head-unit but I will be upgrading it after the speaker stuff.

Look into MB Quart PCE216's. They can usually be had around $200, and sound awesome.

Do you have an amp to power them with? If so, what kind?

Do you have a sub stage? If so, what does it consist of?

what are you going to be amping the components with??

and those Mb Quarts are pretty good speakers, and sound good!

also check out Focal Access components(165A1) and even the Phoenix Golds(RSD65CS)

I have a bazooka sub that is currently disconnected and do not plan to put back. I was planning on having no sub-stage, and then eventually add one 10 or 12 down the road.

As for amplifying I wanted to get solid candidates for the speakers before I started looking into the amps. I plan to amp them with an amplifier and NOT from the head-unit.

If you can swing $230 I'd really recommend the Rainbow SLC 265's.

Otherwise, the PG RSd65cs's seem to be doing outstanding for the money based on all the reviews so far.

Well $230 mite be a bit too much since I still would need more money for amp/wiring etc...

They are outstanding speakers.

Another option might be the REV components. And also check eBay for the Blaupunkt Velocity Vc660 set.

i'd trust sonic electronix just as much as i trust ebay. Both are NOT AUTHORIZED so if you buy from them YOU WILL NOT GET A WARRANTY. you might get those "special warranties" that are through the company but they don't do shit.

Yes, but SE is an authorized dealer for certain brands, like Kicker and Blaupunkt for example. I doubt they'd want any consumer complaints about them sending out knock-offs and compromise their authorized status with them.

can we start narrowing some of these down? for instance i dont want harsh tweets, im looking for everything to be SMOOTH and ACCURATE. Going for SQ.
