Help from RE SX owners

hi

i just fitted in my RE SX, and i have used it but it doesent sound very loud and doesnt tickle my ears, i was wondering if this was due to how i wired up the voice coils. i have a dual 2ohm and i wanted to wire it to get a 1ohm load, i have wired it +ve to +ve and so on.

do you have to wire a specific voice coil to the other as with my kicker L7 you had to wire voice coil 1 with voice coil 2 and then to the amp, and thats when you get a 1ohm load if you dont that you dont get the 1ohm load, as i tried both ways and found that the correct way was louder.

so with the SX do i have to wire the voice coils up in the correct order to get a 1ohm load???

the diagram above is for serial wiring to RAISE the ohm load.

you want parallel.

wire both the + leads together and both the - leads together and connect them to the respective + and - terminals on the amp.

don't look at that, you don't want a 4ohm load...

but you're correct, wire positive to positive, negative to negative and then to your amp...

I loved my 2 12"s SXs. Upgraded to MTs, now I'm onto the older XXXs. Something about RE.....

ive done exactly that but are u sure i dont have to wire positive off the left voice coil to positive on the right voice like i had to do on my kicker L7. it could be the old amp i have it may not be working to full power as all gain, frequency controls dont work so i think the amps not working well. anyways im installing my new SPL dynamics 1200D tomorow and i will give it 1200rms

Take it to the local shop. Also, tune with a DMM.

yes, wire all the +'s together and all the -'s together. However you get there is up to you, coil to coil to amp or each coil back to the amp. Just don't do any + to - anywhere.

well i think its the amp thats the problem, since im using the same amp with my RE SX and it hits alot harder then my L7 so ill get the new amp fitted
