Help for a heat issue

Alright just set my gain properly and played at full till for a good 10 minutes and the sub was barely even warm. So I'd say that problem is solved. The amp is still hot but I guess it just runs hot because it hasn't went into protect or anything. Is it safe to say that it just runs hot? And also on my amp what is the punch eq do? Ive seen it otherwise known a bass boost....what should it set at? I have it around 1/4 of the way turned up. I've been told not to keep it low. What should I do?

All bass boost should be at 0. Any time you boost a signal frequency, that signal gains some distortion, distortion and clipping are your equipments arch enemies. You can get away with boosting the bass, but I don't recommend it.
