Help Finding Amp

you don't really need to worry about your alternator if your amps don't draw to much current from your battery. look for an amp that will power those subs but is efficient enough that it won't drain your charging system to badly. ie, if your amp has more than 2 fuses built into it it's a current hog.

i looked through the owners manual and cant find anything about how many fuses it has. Its 1999 silverado 1500 ext cab. Do u hav any amp suggestions?

Well when I put my first system together I had a Rockford Fosgate 450.4 and a Rockford Fosgate 600.1 powering my speakers and subs and I didn't have any problems with the charging system in my car. Now I have an Audison LRX 4.5 and an Alpine PDX 1.1000 and I had to upgrade the alternator in order to power everything properly. Don't quote me on this because there is probably a better answer out there, but I think as soon as you go over 1000 watts rms if it be from one amplifier or two combined, you're probably going to have to upgrade your alternator. If I were you I'd get what ever amp you want and then go from there.

What do you mean 2 ohms a piece? Mags are Dual 2 ohm. Therefore, together they wire to 0.5 ohm or 2 ohm. Or, each one can wire to 4 ohm or 1 ohm. You cannot run them ar 2 ohms a piece.

As far as an alternator, you're fine. I run between 2kw and 3kw daily off my stock alternator. You need an additional battery in the back to keep up your voltage. I would suggest your new system consist of the 2 older SI Mags, an Incriminator Audio 20.1 @ 0.5 ohm, and a Kinetik HC2400 or some other comparable battery in the back with the amp.

Just my $0.02.

I dont wanna have to drop an additional 200 - 300 bucks on a battery. Im gonna be using two of the newer mags. Yea and I just realized they are dual 2 ohm, ur right. The Incriminator Audio 20.1 are too pricy. I was either gonna get a kicker zx1500 or a zx1000. I cant decide if the extra power is gonna be necessary. I hear the new ones dont require much.
