hi guys i have just a few questions i was hoping someone can help me decide. I just recently purchased the pioneer dex-p99rs h/u. I have the audiocontrol matrix line driver hooked up to it but am having noise issues-buzzing sound mainly coming thru tweeters. is this common? should i just eliminate it? will the dex-p99rs have enough headroom? also i have Hertz Mille Mlk3 currently using the passive crossovers with 3in and 3outs for twt, ribbon, midrange. Everything is ran active but should i eliminate these also and go completely active thru the h/u? someone told me these comps need these crossovers to sound good?? any help is greatly appreciated! thankyou!

get rid of the linedriver i don't think it's really necessary. you have a deck completely capable of tuning any 3 way front plus sub system i'd use it and dump the passives. as for the noise i'd start by eliminating one thing at a time. start with the line driver see if it goes away if not check the amps. if not check the deck's wiring.

i really want my system to sound loud and clear. will the p99 get loud with enough headroom you think? the max volume is 62. with the linedriver amp gains all the way down it reaches 45 very loud. thanks for the response btw

it's not just the deck that gives you head room. it's the amps too. you have to set your gain correctly to have it all sound right. just having a line driver that gives increases your voltage out to the amps isn't always better. with the system i have my high and mid amp are gained all the way down. i think ihave the sub at 1/4 or half but on the deck at -18 or usually -10. what amps are you using

That line driver is not needed AT ALL. you have the best deck made, at least as of recently. 5 volt pre outs is plenty. That may help the noise. Maybe a wire is grounding or its the RCAs, really hard to tell.

ok so im going to take out the linedriver. as for the crossovers..they have 3 ins and 3 outs unlike most passives with 3in 1 out to amps. So isn't this sorta like active? ive just been told these comps work best with these crossovers. Have I been told worng?
