ok, I plan on getting 2 12" mtx 9500 subs, I plan to power them with 2 MTX 942 amps. I am not sure which is the best way to wire it. Also I was told to get 2 yellow tops, is this neccessary and how would I wire them with the amps and would the wire back to my car battery/alternator??? be nice for somone to have a picture thanx.

Here is what I am thinking,

Get 2 12" dual subs, wire them series parallel, but then I dont get how it connects to the amp. DOes each sub get it's indivisual amp or are both amps connected together and wired to the subs which are conected?? Also, If i am going to have 1 or even 2 more batterys, how do I wire it to my alternator so they recharge??

If you are planning getting two of those amps, I buy dual 2 ohm voice coil subs and wire each one in series to achieve a 4 ohm load. Then, I would wire each sub to each amp separately and bridge both amps to achieve the approximately 1000 watts from each amp. As for the batteries, I don't really know so I'll let more experienced people answer that.

For the batteries, you would have to get the terminal posts for the batteries and connect the positive terminal of the factory battery to the new battery. The ground just has to be on a good chassis ground. Remember to use at least 4 gauge for the wiring.

Here is the website for some terminals you could use.

Also, If the alternator cannot handle the extra load, a larger or if possible a 2nd alternator would help quite a bit. Remember, if the alternator can't handle it, the battery won't last very long.

Thanx, I get everything much better accept when you say bridge the amps you mean connect the 1 amp to the other and have that amp conected to the battery..

yeah...bridge an amp, then connect one dual 2ohm 9500 to it. Then do the same with the other sub/amp. As for the battery....yeah, b4 you invest in that look into a HO alternator. check out http://www.excessiveamperage.com Nate can build you a custom HO 200 amp alt for like $280 or so. MUCH better investment than the whole extra battery deal....b/c when ur car is running the alternator is providing the current NOT the battery. Also, yor stock alternator prolly couldn't handle the load of charging 2 batteries AND running the entire electrical system of yor car. peace

DO NOT RUN CABLES FROM OLD TO NEW BATTERY. its more complicated than that. You have to get an isolator to isolate your battery(obviously) the alternator will be the next thing youll buy if you dont. All you have to do is wire the + and - from the battery to the isolator w/ a 12v turn on and then to the new battery then to the amps.

I would personally buy a upgraded alternator rather than buy 2 yellow tops.

Keep your opinions to yourself if you dont know what your talking about.

you don't HAVE to. an isolator is a waste of money...an unnecessary item that is not at all needed. many friends...competitors...and people i trust a lot (VERY experienced people)...along with myself do NOT use them. fyi...peace

I agree 100% with ya'. If you have a good alt like an Excessive Amperage alt - it will charge two or more batteries with no isolator easily ! I have never used one of them - waste of $ ! I sponsor several people who do not use them - You tell that to a guy I sponsor who runs 18 batteries - think he has Isolators ? Are you crazy ?

correct me if i'm wrong, but i dont think u can get the 9500 in a 2 ohm sub, mines 4ohm by 4ohm,if i coulda gotten it in 2 ohm by 2 ohm i would have, but i'm pretty sure they dont make them in 2 ohms, even mtxaudio.com doesnt list it
