help choosing hu...

my factory hu sucks...so i am gonna get a new one. just curious to know what brands i should look at. maybe alpine or kenwood....any others? i want one that is not to complicated to operate, i wanna simple hu. i would like it to have green lighting to match my guage pod if possible. any ideas come to mind?

looking to spend 250 or less, less would be better. any opinions? see sig for details on entire system. thanks in advance.

I think the Pioneer P6700MP has some green in it.. also a good budget HU IMO.. But yea.. keep your eyes on pioneer/kenwood/alpine

clarion DXZ745. it has been better better then any pioneer i have ever owned. it has numerous different colors and green is one of them. has everything i need and only cost $139. it has better sq then my pioneer premier 860 did.

i like the Pioneer P6700MP. i like how the face is symetrical on both sides, u dont see many like that. does it have any subwoofer on/off options or anything special like that?

my car has factory amps (3 of em') will i need any wiring harnesses to wire it up? or should i just use the amp in the hu to push my comps. if so where can i get the one i need?

look on ebay, i got a alpine 9813, a VERY nice CD player for $165, so just keep an eye on ebay

you should just need the wire harness that you get at walmart. i would run an aftermarket amp to your components. it'll sound a lot better. look into that clarion. i've run a couple different pioneer decks, including the premier 860, and i like my clarion a lot better.

Should help you with all of your questions on that Pioneer P6700MP (has all specs)

Also, all I have owned deck wise has been Pioneer.. So I really can't compare em' to a Alpine, Clarion or Kenwood.. But I do know that you WILL be happy with a Pioneer..I've never had any problems with them and I just keep buying their decks.

I have a jenson head unit, it works perfectly for what i need, but i am already looking for a new one. Just got a couple hundred in gift cards to circuit city, so i am ganna go hit that up and get a new head unit, possibly a lcd monitor i hope!
