so i'm not too smart with installing car stereos, but my buddy helped and we got everything installed. even he doesn't know why, but everything seems to work but the radio now.

it might be the antenna plug, just because its pretty long and we're not sure if it's compeletely in or not. very difficult to get in, and no slack to work with. is there any other reason why my radio won't come on?

oh, and i forgot to mention when we were playing with the sub wires (while radio was on), we could hear some beats here and there that sounded like the radio...

any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

hm, well i have no brown/white wires... but i do have the blue and blue with white stripes wires. do i take one of those and connect it to the antenna wire on the harness adapter? if so, what exactly is the 'antenna wire on the harness adapter'? sorry...

actually, after writing that... my roomate just told me that the wire has no relevance since i don't even have a power antenna and that's what the wire is for. he said it has nothing to do with radio reception... ?

he said for our friends acura integra, they used some type of extender for his antenna wire, because they're always very tight... if this is my problem, do you know where i could find one?

Power antenna and signal boosters are two different things. My Porsche 944 has the antenna built into the windshield, and a signal booster to boost the input signal.

Do you get static when the radio is turned on, or no output at all?

why would u buy a new cd player. Take it some where(CC or BB is Fine) to have them install it. Its pry gonna cost ya 35-40 dollars. Then if it doesnt work u can get a new one from them.

Another option would be to return the cdplayer now, if at all possible. Go to CC or BB and buy a cd player 100 and up, its then free installation.

is it powering up?

do you get output using the cd player?

only option now is to take out the hu, check speaker connections are not reversed on any of them, confirm antenna is connected and get it to work prior to installing back. if that can't or doesn't happen then spend the money to get someone to do it. if they can't return the defective hu and buy a new one and have them install it
