Help buying a sub. Diamond, RE, Element Design, Please clue me in!

I'd go with the pair of D3s (try and find em here used, may take time)

or a single RE SE and then a budget amp (hifonics 1000d, etc)

OK, so I am starting to think I am never going to find a sub! haha

I am looking at the RE Audio SE12 and the Diamond Audio D6

Probably with a Cadence 600Wrms amp.

But now I am thinking that maybe a 10" will be better?

Whats the main reason to go with a larger sub? More avaliable power or something? I have heard the larger the sub, the lower the frequency but will I still be able ot get that instant "thud" while listening to rock music. You know, that fast base drum sound! haha, sorry for sounding retarded.

I just dont want it to be very low and drowny...like just all the sub does is go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM all the time.
