Help burning DVD's

Well recently i've figured out how to DL torrents and have some pretty good movies on the computer.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to Burn the movies to DVD's though. When i D/L them they're in AVI format. The only burning software i have on my computer is Sonic, and it just sucks. Every time i try to add a movie to burn it, it tells me it's in the wrong format. So the way i'm doing it now is putting it in windows movie maker, and saving it from there to a movie file, and then burning it in Sonic. The quality is TERRIBLE though. And the whole process takes me like 3 hours no lie.

I know there has got to be an easier way to do this.

Is there a free program i can get online that will convert my movie from an AVI to whatever format necessary to burn to DVD?

Any help is appreciated.

sorry if it's a Noobish question. i'm an idiot when it comes to computers. lol

Go to download.com and find an avi to dvd converter. What kind of tv do you have? I'd just hook it to my tv.

Okay, i was looking for one yesterday with no luck. I'll try that website.

I thought about hooking it up to my tv but i really dont know how to do that. Dont you have to have like an S-Video input? My old *** TV doesnt have one.

get winavi , its what I use toconvert avi to dvd files ad then I burn with dvd shrink ad dvd decrypter

well since your doing torrents....

this is what i suggest

go to torrentz.com or torrent-search-bar.com these are sites that combine all torrent sites etc...like google....but go and download convertxtodvd...........it converts the avi to a dvd.....i also pmed you this program i suggested converts and burns

I was gonna say that i hope it did. You are basically reversing what someone else did to put the movie in avi format. What burning software do you use? I use Nero and I know you can make vcd's that are playable on dvd players. It may be tricky though. I mean when it was compressed to .avi the chapters might have been screwed up.

for dvd to dvd i use dvd fab gold.....for avi to dvd i use convertxtodvd.
