Help building box for a kicker CVR-15

I have a Kicker CVR-15 that's powered with a Rockford Fosgate 500RMS monoblock and I want to build a new box for it the box i have now was just kind of built in a hastily fashion a now I want to build a box that is actually designed and tuned but I don't know whether i should make a ported or sealed box or whether I want an up-firing or down-firining box. This box is gonna be going into a saturn vue. I'm new to this forum so any help designing this box or any tips given will be greatly appreciated>

i have always used sealed in the past but since i built my first ported i will never go back much louder than it was before. theres several guys on here who design boxes and there is a sticky that has some random box designs. havent been on here long and cant remember who all designs but i know the guy named buck does them if you cant find what you are looking for in the sticky

well to be honest im not really sure what you mean by response i just want it really loud but i will be glad to put up some pics and some dimensions for you sometime this weekend when im not working i was leaning more towards an up firing box but im not sure what sounds the best

"Response" meaning from lowest frequency to highest frequency youwould like it to operate in. Usually at most, a bandwidth of one and a half octaves is maximum for a sub driver. For instance, if you say low end of 30Hz, then multiply that by 2, to get 60. Then take 30 plus 60 to get 90, then divide by 2 to get 45. So, add 45 to the original 30 to get a high end of 75Hz. So, a response of 30-75Hz is one and a half octave bandwidth.

A trick to understand though, the lower the low frequency cutoff, the smaller bandwidth you will likely see, so the 30-75Hz is highly recommended for many reasons.

Ok guys here is what I have for maximum dimensions

Current Box

-25 1/2" wide

-16" Tall

-24" Long (front to back)

New Box Dimensions

-26" Long (max)

-36" Wide (max)

-17" Tall (max)

I want to mount my amp on the box somewhere and the dimensions for the amp are as follows

-15 3/4" Long

-8" Wide

-2 1/2" Tall

and this might be helpfull the rear seats are on a 15° Incline. I also want the box to be up-firing

Well the only Problem I have is I don't have any money right now because I just took a paycut and I'm barely being able to make it through school pay off my car and pay rent I don't expect anybody to do it fo free but at the moment that's really all I can afford as of right now I'm trying to save. Up some cash for the wood because MDF really isn't cheap I would like to be able to get a design but if that isn't possible information I would accept also thanks

Well, if I can get the time after the four designs I'm working on right now, ill help as much as possible....if you don't mind a slower process, unless someone who will do it free chimes in, but be careful, because sometimes you do get what you pay for. If no one helps with an actual design soon, ill try to stay posted on this thread to help out when I get the chance.
