Help building a box!!!

I need to make 2.3 cu ft box at 30HZ

JL Manual is giving me this dimesions

External Height

17.25 in

External Width

25.125 in

External Depth

16.5 in

According to my calculation that about 3.8 cu ft

Can anyone give me some pointer here. What should my measurement be? Or are this measurement correct??

I found this one in one thread here

Their website recommend 2.3 @ 36hz I think

Is there any reason why when I calculated the dimension on this it gives me more than 3.0 cu ft?? Lil Help Please

You have to take the port displacement into consideration as well as the sub displacement. The final tune of that design you posted will change depending on the size of the sub you put in the box.

go to RE Enclosure Calculator

enter your dimensions and figure out what would work for you.

about the sub... that box should work but for 30hz you need to make the port bigger than the box listed on their site.

The re calculator doesn't consider sub or bracing displacements. Use the re calc to get the box dimensions right then finalize the port length calculations with this port length calc or use win isd: Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators

It'd be easier making something with even overall dimensions instead of having to deal with quarters and eighths.
