Help! Amp Turns Off Every Time Car Auto-Stop/Starts

It might be "ghetto" by today's standards but I used to run a wire off the battery to a switch then to the amp...back in my youth the Police liked pulling over anybody loud and the kill switch made it easier to hide who it was šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
