help amp going into protect

I havent had my system hooked up in awhile, but I just got my sub reconed. I went to throw it in my truck, had everything hooked up and the amp is going into protect. someone plz gimme some ideas of maybe whats wrong.

Probably have done this, but check your wiring like 100 times.

yea it has to be my wiring to my sub... I cant remeber exactly how I wired it before... been alotta beer drank since I had it hooked up last. =)

lower impedence load than the amp can handle.change the vc config.

Ive tried, We hooked the amp up in my buddies blazer isnt working right.. it keeps going into protect when you hook it up.... I havent used the amp in about a year. So I dont know what really could of happened to it.

idk mang. open er up and look for any burnt spots or any weird smells.
