Help/Advise 08' Audi TT Coupe

that's a pretty cool thread on the glass. anyhow, back on topic, I'm thinking the germs are gonna end up a bit more that what I want to spend, i.e. $500ish or so for the comps and coax's, unless I can get a crazy deal or pick up some germs from someone on here that is upgrading. I've been looking at these two sets the SAX 265.20 or the SLC 265, let me know what you guys think of them, which sound better (SQ wise) and any personal experiences with either set. I also noticed after jumping around on rainbow's site that some sets are labeled "kick" and some aren't. what's the difference? I know it's probably obvious, but there was not any real explanation on the site, so I thought I'd ask here.

Well, do you absolutely have to have rear coaxes right now? How about you spend the money on the Germs for the front, and see how you like the sound with just front speakers? The TT is a pretty small car, I think just the front speakers will sound great!

x2!

Forget the rears!!

I know, I know, but that is a perfectly good waste of the PDX4.100!, besides, I'll end up changing them eventually. what is so wrong with the others I have mentioned.........or is it that the Germs are that good?

Also, anyone ever deal with onlinecarstereo.com or sonicelectronix? do they have a good rep? It bothers me a little as I'm thinking I might buy the PDX's online -- I know If I have a problem I'll have to go thru them for warranty work, but at the prices there currently on there for It seems like the right way to go, unless there is an AD for alpine on the boards as well.

Then get Alpine TYPE X 177Pro's

Bi-Amp them & Call it a fine A$$ day...

no interest in alpine speakers really. I'm willing to spend a little more to do it right the first time and build the system the way I want. unlike previous builds I've done, now its more about justifying the expense than the ability to spend. of course it all will have to be explained to the wife (didn't have that prob before) but I've got that end handled.

right now, with the limited info I have on Rainbow, and specifically certain models, I can't justify spending the extra for the germs. I really just want something that sounds better than what the bose craptastic system sounded like (not hard) I won't be keeping the car forever, and there is a 50% chance that after I get rid of the car, they will be taken out and put up with the rest of the retired gear, only to come out again If I have something that they would fit in.

Ok guys, this idea just came to me, let me know if I'm nuts....

Rainbow Germs up front.....

eD 7kv.2 Sub Drivers in the rear factory locations....

and a single PDX 4.150. skip the cleansweep and just use an audiocontrol LC6i to feed it all a clean signal. that solves lots of problems with space, which is a good thing.

OK, feedback.....
