Help a rookie pick an amp or amps.

Putting together a new system from scratch in my Explorer. I'll be running a pair of 6.5 components in the front. Most of the speakers I've been looking at are 100rms 4 ohm speakers, including the alpine x-pro series. Planning to put a pair of 6.5 coax in the rear doors, but will probably not use them much unless I have passengers.

I plan to keep the stock 8" subwoofer for now, but will eventually replace it with another 8" or a 10" if I can squeeze it in there without major modifications, and I can add a sub amp.

I'm debating on whether to buy a 2 channel amp with 100 or 150 rms x 2 for the front speakers, with the rear coaxials powered by the head unit for when I want to use them.

Or do I go with a 4 channel with 100 or 150rms x 4 if the head unit would not be sufficient to power the rears.

Or spend a little more on a quality 5-channel now, knowing I won't have to spend on a sub amp later.

Some of the amps I'm considering are the pdx 2.150, JL 300 2v2; Or in the 4channel the pdx4.100 or 4.150. And in the 5-channel: polk pa1100.5, pdx-5, pr memphis belle 16-MCH1300

I know some of this is a matter of budget and personal taste, but I'd appreciate some opinions. I'm leaning towards the pdx 2.150 for the front and adding another sub amp later.

i would do a 4 channel for your front stage and rear fill

and not use the Head units power

I hope your stock subwoofer is not oddly phased like the Shaker 500 door subwoofers that came stock with my Mustang. Prior to adding my aftermarket subwoofer, I had cancellation issues with my aftermarket door and rear deck speakers. After adding my subwoofer, I encountered cancellation issues with bass output in the 50 to 80 Hz region. As soon as I pick an active HU, the Shaker crap is out of there!

I would go with a 5ch. Memphis has a nice one that will be plenty of power for when you upgrade. So I say go with a 5ch.
