hi yall, im a new guy on the board,

but not to trucking boards, I was recomended here by some friends and they said that you all were a friendly bunch willing to help people out..

I have a 2000 (2nd generation) dodge ram cummins diesel quad cab,

Im running dual batteries, high out put alternator , so i got these covered,

I have replaced the factory deck with an after market pioneer deh p77dh

along with 2 rockford fosgate punch 10 inches in a MTX thunderform under back seat box,

These are being powered by an audiobahn a8000t mono amplifier,

Well thats a little about me ..

Now onto my questions, recently had my truck in the shop for a ***** build, needless to say the shop had a little too much fun with my stereo and when i got it back i have at least 1 blown speaker, possibly 2 ..

So i want to replace front and rears, its got one in each door,

so im in need of speakers, now i think what i want is component speakers, because i am on somewhat of a budget right now, 250-300 dollar ceiling on the 4 speakers, I will do installs myself,

i have been browsing through here, and have found these speakers recomended for a decent price on ebay, would these make me happy off the system i have so far without getting an external amp for these ?

Also is it a good thing to do all speakers one brand and type, or would it be better to do differnet ones front and rear ?

Thanks guys,

so those phoenix golds are high quality components ?

also would it sound good to do 4 of those (1 in each door) ,

Or would it sound better to run 2 of those in front, (or two in back?) ,

then 2 different speakers run off the head unit ?

or run a different set of components in the opposing door ?

Generally, people on this board prefer to run one set in the front(one in each door) and nothing in the back, as it is not needed. However, it wouldn't hurt you to run 2 sets in the car, it just would be a bit wasteful is all. Just make sure you have an amp for both sets if you decide to run comps for both the front and the back though.

And search for reviews of the PG RSD on this board, nothing but good things about them.

okay so another question to add on,

A set of the phoenix golds would do good in the front, Along with the tweeters and crossover, along with an external amp X ,

Then in the back 2 coaxial speakers, Would these be okay to be powered off the head unit ?

Or do i also need a seperate amplifier for these,

It's a truck forget the rear speakers invest that money into better speakers or the amp.

No do not run them off the head unit get a amp.. The speakers will want 50 - 100watts rms.. not 25
