So...many years ago, I was “that girl” who had the killer system...worth more than my little Mazda 323. Anyways, fast forward, I got an aftermarket head unit...and it was supposed to end there. Then, it didn’t end there, and I decided a cheap pair of speakers couldn’t hurt...and, let’s face it, it’s started. So, I’m here to research, get advice/info and ultimately build up a nice system. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Welcome! Been to your city 3x now lol....International Drive and Kirkman Rd!! Got that memorized //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So what exactly are you looking for? More amps, wattage, subs?

Ah yes, I-Drive and Kirkman...in the middle of all the attractions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well, at this point, i literally just decided that I may start working on having a decent system. Before, I was fortunate that had a cousin who installed everything for me and gave me all my equipment (speakers, subs, crossovers, etc). Installing the stuff myself, is different. I started researching how to mount my tweeters in my Mazda, which led me to read about on & off axis. My Pioneer also has so many options to adjust sound, but I’m not sure how to set all of them. I guess right now, i just need to place these tweeters. I was thinking on the door close to the woofer, instead of on the dash, where most people put it, for this car. Any advice on that would help.

I’m also looking for a decent subwoofer and an amp. Not looking for monster bass, but something for a more complete sound. Of course I’d probably need another amp for front and rear speakers. Right now, they’ll be running off head unit.

Not sure if it’s any good, but I still have some equipment from years ago...not sure if it’s worth testing any of it to see if it works. Again, thanks for any advice!!

First off Welcome to the site //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/respekt.gif.b162d148236010609fe523122efe3729.gif I have respect for a woman that enjoys Car Audio secondly.Third,if you are really into it, Car Audio can become an Addiction, and can often get expensive if you want it too.A budget is the best place to start and to get the most out of it.Buying the right equipment, can help with future upgrades if need be as well if you shop around and find some good deals / even used isnt a bad way to go if you can find a trusted seller.I have had some great systems over the years.I dont think but only of a few vehicles I havent installed a system in.Majority of the time, and to make things less complicated,is to ripout the stock and go from there. My opinion, and experiences

Absoultely love all the attractions you guys have there. I still haven't been able to visit everything...costs $$. But been to Universal Studios 2 or 3x now. prob go back when hopefully we go back there next yr...

Can you list the equipment you have already? Make and model #....and yes the rule of thumb for tweeters is mount them as close to the mid as possible. However, I have read that people mounted tweets in the dash and mid in lower end of each door.

So you have the Mazda 323 you are working with? What year model is the vehicle?Id have to look up that HU specs.Direction of speakers /on/off axis is very important, especially within Sound Quality.I amplify every speaker in the vehicle to get the most out of them and to be able to get the right power to them to perform. Preperation of the doors is a must. What speakers/components are you working with?As far as older speakers and amps,Im still using my older Autotek amps and at times I swapp my newer Kenwood HUs and older Eclipse Hus out all the time and still working fantastic. What older equiptment do you have? You may still be able to utilize what you have, and in most cases some may be better than the newer foreign equipment, and save you some $ to spend elsewhere within the system.
