Hearing loss FTL :(

I know hearing loss obviously occurs with any system at full tilt..I'm sure even crappy stock systems can produce well over 100db at full tilt...but I've never experienced this much loss of hearing sensitivity in such a short amount of time...

I put in my second MJ like a week and a half ago, and it was loud as hell, and now it doesn't sound loud at all really to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I know it IS just as loud, considering excursion, flex, how much you feel it, reactions of other people, etc, but it doesn't sound even close to as loud as it used to to my ears, and its only been like less than 2 weeks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I suppose its the reason those of you with systems in the 150+ range can sit there and act like its no big deal while other people listening think its ridiculous

I mean it sounds like less than when I had just 1 MJ in before:(

I already cant hear shit. I was just born that way. Parents hate the fact that im into the subs and shit but i dont care im sure it will only get worse from here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

guys at work wonder how i llisten to mine loud on my hour drive to work, i just shrug my shoulders, just another stereo to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hah!!

I had haven't had a complete system in over a year. I sat in my buddy's car about 3 weeks ago had a dd3512 and some hertz comps. Sounded like *** to me but I could most defineatly tell it's been a while.

same here. it was loud at first, and i know its still just as loud, but it just doesnt sound the same after a few days.

only way i can tell is by new ppl who sit in my cars reactions, or just sorta felling the seat/ steering wheel shake.

My parents think I'm losing my hearing because I listen to everything loud and I constantly have to tell them that I'm not losing my hearing, I just like to listen to everything loud (mp3 player, stereo, car stereo, tv, etc.).

yea i went without hearing a system for two weeks then i heard mine and i was like dang then 1 hour later:( i get used to it fast . every day it takes around 3 songs then its like i am sittin there everything is flexxin and it blows:( i even stuck my head right in front of the port of a wall with 6kw and and 4 15's and i was like meh. its ghey our bodies adapt to fast.

lol I guess in a way its good, I was wondering how the hell I'd ever get any louder when I dropped in that second 18, cuz it was kinda painful to my ears, now I feel it much much more than I hear it, and could go probably another step up as big as from the single MJ to two before it hurts again

Next build will be same subsprobably ported, walled off in the trunk, ports up out the rear deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

i doubt u can fit 2 18's ported in a trunk. maybe 2 15's. trust me if u havent heard a true GROUND POUNDER then go hear one and u will seriously think ur system is like a tweeter compared theres lol. i have heard a 153+ at the headerst at 35 HZ. little bit loud:D

I need my back seats //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Lookin forward to it, when you think you'll start fully considering/planning this?

I probably won't end up doin it till next summer:(

by then I'll have money to switch out subs and get some more heavy-duty 18's and probably double the power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
