Meh, that could be a possibility..I think while im there I will get a reading with the box rotated both directions to make sure.
And since im in NW...the rear deck is pretty much a giant hole, no carpeting and I modified it previously (theres metal cut away from the center of it...the 18 is pretty much firing straight up into the cabin)...i also will have the rear seats taken out for comps...so with no rear seats, no rear deck carpeting, and some of the rear deck missing I think that'll help me quite a bit

yupp. where u gettin metered? as in the mic position. the space issuse is why i get louder with 2 crappy 12's vs. 1 ok 15 by around .5 db

Eh true for 'real-world' (how loud it is if youre just sitting there) numbers but as far as db drag/comps are concerned the dash is standard

pioneer do you get alot of gain when you listen to your sub from in your car with the trunk closed vs standing right in front of it? I've installed in other trunks before and some cars were pretty much just as loud in the back with the trunk open standing in front of the subs, some were closer to the way mine is but I'd honestly have to say I get more cabin gain than any other trunk car I've heard

not with that tall *** box. expect way lowr esp since u dont have much power.

Me = Ear plugs much over 130dB (bass) for very much time at all. I won't even do 150+ dB without plugs at all.

Loud highs hurt my ears quickly as well, I'll wear ear plugs in someone else's car if need be... and just don't crank it that loud in mine, except for maybe a short time on a good song.

Yes he does wear ear plugs all the time ......i dont ever ,guess it will catch up with me sooner or later .

I listened louder than I do now for a few years when I was just getting into stereo systems - I think I have some damage from the tweeters in my first "serious" system. I notice that the telephone sounds noticeably different ear to ear - my tweeter was dead on axis with my right ear in that car vs. the other tweeter being way off, I always felt it a bit in my right ear but ignored it at the time.

Not too bad... my hearing is still pretty sharp, but I did take note of that when switching the phone to my other ear.
