Headunit shopping (around $200)

Well since my old headunit (a pioneer 6400) blew up, I'm looking for something new. I would like to spend about $200, but will a little more if I have to. I could search, but pricing changes all the time and I know new models came out recently. I've never used a Clarion, but I've heard good things about DXZ835MP, and the zeb has it for $220. I was also looking at the Pioneer 660/760. Is mp3 the only difference between those 2? What about Kenwood, or anything else? Gimme some ideas.

I ran a clarion 835mp for a couple of months last summer. It is a good deck.

looks good

sounds good

easy to use

display easy to see in direct sunlight

never skipped

clarion's are good. Im partial to rockford fosgate now that i've had experience with a few. the new ones are great. also check out some more pioneer

Yes thats pretty much the only difference between those two decks. I personally don't like either one of them. I like the 860 best in Premier's new line up. But of course its a tad over your 200 dollar budget now isn't it.

How old is the DXZ835MP? Does Clarion make anyother good decks for around that price? No opinions on Kenwood?

a nice cheap headunit is the alpine CDA 9825, it has alot of features and its really nice, its at circuit city for 180, it dosent skip at all either, peace
