Headunit Help?

Hi

I'm intrested in putting a sony HU in my skiboat.

I only need two speakers in the boat and was wondering if I jummped the Left Front and Left right cables together. I was wondering if that would give me twice the power to the left speaker. Same situation for the right. Or are the front and rear completly different channels?
