Headunit display not working

as the title says.. heres what happened, i was driving home found a song i liked so i turned it up full blast (on a open road noone around) when i start nearing houses i go to turn it down only to find the display on my hu isnt working (nor did any of the buttons).. turned the truck off and back on, still no headunit display. wtf? help?
