Headlights dimming and hu skippin

I got a hifonics brutus 1500d amp and alpine 9813 hu. when i turn my hu up past 15 my lights start to dim and as i got up past 20 the hu starts skipping. i im thinking about buying a optima yellowtop deepcycle but will that solve my prob. I ****ed up already by gettin a 2.2 farad cap but i got it from my bro.

An amp can't make power unless it gets power. If the amp does not have sufficient grounding, it will in fact put a strain on the entire electrical system. If you have not done the BIG 3 (or BIG 4 if necessary), get it done right away. You cd player is skipping from either low voltage, improper installation, a resonant frequency issue or it is just plain fcuked.

Try upgrading your ground wire from the battery post to the chasses use the same guage wire as your power wire to your amp. A bigger alternator would be my first choice though.
