Headlight tint

Does anyone know the headlight tint laws for NC? Is any tint at all illegal? I want to do a really light tint on the headlights and nothing on the tail lights, but do not want to get pulled over for it (could get me in trouble for other things if its bad timing).

And what tint % would make it noticeable but not dark?

don't bother unless you don't mind getting hassled. Too light and you won't notice. Dark enough to look good and you will draw attention.

get vynil tint for head light. it's more durable than tint film.

also, with vynil tint if you get stopped with it on you can rtemove them if you desire to get out of ticket or such. i'm sure lots of people in NC have head light tint. it's ok really.

why get something that does absolutely nothing for you if you have to risk getting in trouble for it.

tint, i understand, for security reasons, or if you live somewhere that's always sunny. HID's i understand, for better visibility, but it sounds like there's no reason for this other than to 'look cool' so why risk it.

He wants tinted headlights, and I get pulled over once a week for shaved door handles.
lies....

and either way. shaved door handles is a hazard. what if you're in an accident and your car is on fire with you in it? how would they be able to get into your car quick enough to rescue you? yall need to think of these things.

Speaking from experience, glass is easily broken //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for NC law, I'd call the DMV...I agree that their online documentation is worth shit, I've been trying to figure out their antique vehicle registration laws and I'm still stuck. No substitute for in-person communication...
