I got some water in my left headlight just from driving on the interstate while it was raining. It looks awful compared to the right one with no water in it. I have read some people talk about taking them apart in order to paint/clean or whatever. What all does it take to dismantle the HL and put it back together. I hear heat it in order to remove it, but i dont know what to use to put it back together so its sealed from the rain again.

Ive done this a few times (to black out the healight lense and retrofitting) . In most cases you will be able to reuse the stock sealant by reheating both halfs and putting them back together while the sealant is still tacky . Clamps are needed in this step . In almost all case just by doing this , it will seal them up better then what they were original . Silicone works well also . Let me try to find a writeup for it . That your car in the avatar?

Hey man , this is the writeup I used but should work for you . Obviously you dont have to do some of the steps listed but it goes over on how to seperate the two housings etc . You may be able to find a writeup specific to your car on the honda forums .
basically that's it..heat it up in an overn then pull apart...hat again and hold closed..you can use meguiars plastix or brasso or sand and buff the headlight if it's cloudy...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

looks like he has a Solara not a honda..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If your real careful with it battery acid will clean the foggyness off the inside of the lens good. They sell it in bottle's at autoparts stores for unsealed batteries. Same stuff I use to clean foggyness off my r6's windshield. Just don't get it on yourself.
