Head Unit - USB

Eclipse rep says that the CD7100 will only read up to 1GB off a HD or thumbdrive. We used to sell a JVC at work that had a USB on the front and it was able to read 4GB. So yes, there are (rather low) capacities that HU's can read. Best bet would be to contact the manufacturer of each product you have interest in.

As far as recc... didnt care for the JVC we had. It was nice having the USB and all, but not much in the audio control side of things. That's really the only one I've had the chance of working with.

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
