Head Unit Restarts Randomly what could be wrong?

I recently added an amplifier and subwoofer to my friends 08 civic. He has an Eclipse 5510 Navi Head Unit. I changed his music options on the HU, turned off loudness, fixed eq etc, he used to listen at 30 (due to loudness) now at 60 volume.

He is running stock speakers from the head unit.

He called me the other day telling me that his headunit started restarting randomly.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

I am guessing the signal given to the stock speakers may be too much?

did you try and drop the internal amp below 4 ohms? are the wires loose?
Nope, and all wires are fine.

I just remembered he said it happened on songs with a lot of bass, which is why I think the signal to the stock speakers may be the problem.

Anyone else?

Voltage dropping below safe operating range. Use a DMM and monitor the voltage at the battery. If you are seeing drops below 10.5V under heavy bass notes, that is your problem.

Yep that should be it, i never thought of that haha, he has the shitty stock battery that just barely starts the car.

Thanks man
