Pioneer AVH-X4800BS head unit. Ive had a whine coming out of my speakers for a few months regardless if the engine is on or not. I thought it was a ground loop but went through all the troubleshooting and still have the noise. Today i figured out that when you turn the display off (with the display off button) the noise totally stops. Ive never heard of this before, do you think the head unit is defective or is some wiring/ground still causing the whine when the display is on?

Check grounds real well. maybe even add a chassis ground if it doesn't have one already. And check the switched power lead wire for any issues.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
