Hi guys I'm new here.

I have a Mazda Lantis/323F

I bought a new headunit and the car harness won't fit in the new headunit.

The place where you plug in the harness is different from the old headunit.

I have included pictures:

This is my old headunit. The red circle shows where you plug in the harness.

you need a harness that is specific to your car. it plugs in to the factory harness ( your bottom pic) then it gives you wires that you connect to the harness with your new radio.

bottom picture. look how that old radio harness is wired in to the factory one? thats what you are going to need to do with the new radio harness.

Thanks for the reply guys. My new harness is in the 3rd picture? In the last picture, what one is my old radio harness? Should I cut the connector from my new harness and cut the connector of my old harness and connect the old wires to my new harness?

Go to an audio shop or find an internet store that supplies aftermarket wire harnesses for your specific make/model of your car. Then you can use this to connect an aftermarket HY to your car's factory wiring.

I can't find shops in New Zealand that sell aftermarket harnesses. Will my solution work or not?

If I cut the connector from my new harness and cut the connector of my old harness and connect the old wires to my new harness?

That would work... But all of the wires might not match up, the harness makes it much more simple, and error free...

But you should be able to find a wiring harness somewhere...

Ok. Just bought a new Harness adapter.

There are a total of 3 factory harnesses in my car. 2 of them fit into the new adapter. There is a problem though. Since my old headunit used the other factory harness that won't fit in my new headunit, the essential wires have been connected to that harness e.g. the harness that won't fit has the purple wire for speakers and the other 2 harnesses don't. One of the harnesses has the green wire which is one of the rear speakers but needs the purple wire. The two harnesses have different colour wiress in it though... E.g Instead of having 2 purple wires, there is 2 orange wires. The earth wire is not in the two harnesses.
