Head unit install question?

I installed a head unit in my friends car, every thing matched up fine the wires are all correct. The head unit turns on and works but there is no music coming out of the speakers when I play it. Is the head unit screwed up or I did something wrong its a and eclipse cd8443.

We need more information than this. What kind of car is it? Does it have a factory amp?

Its an 2002 jetta 1.8t it has the Monsoon system with the factory amp and that has been rewired. Ive tried everything and it just don't budge. please help me out.

The first time I put my PG T500.2 on my fronts, I reversed the polarity of one of the speaker wires...took me 10 minutes of scratching my head to realize that. Double check everything...and then check it again.

Have you hooked the remote for the factory amp to your head unit? In my truck the remote wire for the factory amp is the power antenna lead and it took me days to figure out why I wasn't getting any sound.

If you remember what color it was that would be awsome but, thinking about it it shouldn't matter (i think) because we took the factory amp out and used rewired it.
