Head unit fuse blew

I've had my head unit installed for 8 months and this morning when I go to work I notice that the radio won't turn on. I pulled radio out after checking fixes and then saw that the fuse on the actual radio blown. What could have caused this thing to blow after so many months?? I will say that I tested the power and ground and am only getting 11 volts. Could that be doing it ?? It's a kenwood ddx-573bh

11volts??A normal operative vehicle are @12+volts..More than likely there may be a fine thread exposed from installation not covered up grounding, and or a possible loose connection.Pull the unit out and rewire it properly and protect all wiring with heat shrink ,my recommendation.

I replaced the fuse and as soon as I applied power it popped. Wiring looks good. Could the head unit be shot??

The HU can fail internally, causing this. Since Kewood is willing to replace, that tells me they know about this issue. Blown fuses are usually install related and rarely a warranty item.

This worked for 7 months and now blows all fuses as soon as you add power. It's definitely internal, I had an amp do that too along time ago sent it to warranty and it happened again so got rid of the amp.
