Good Morning fine folks, So I got this guy telling me that my head unit isn't great for my system I bought it in 2017 an it works great until this day.. so I asked him what he recommend for my system he told me any NEX series from pioneer. he was telling me about the 4V output as my head unit is 2V me being the person I'm I went the internet to look at the spec because when I bought it I remember it saying preamp 4V..

after reading up on the Nex unit it says it got a built in DSP, my own don't say it has a built in DSP but I'm using a DSP on my system the JL twk-88 it my choice

screen shots of both maybe I'm wrong thinking its the same as audio aspect

If you have any noise coming into the system from the low preamp voltage (light crackling or hissing you can hear at low volumes) the higher preamp would work better because the gains would be set lower reducing potential noise. But if you don't have that problem then it would be a lateral move imo. Your external dsp is better than the integrated one in a hu.

Always check out what folks say to you. Looks like you did, as those specs look pretty similar to me. If you are happy with your current system, Keep it. Happy listening.

I've been doing this a long freaking time and 2v is all that used to be available. 4v just gives you slightly higher noise floor which won't matter much in a daily driver. Why do you need DSP at the HU if you already have a quality outboard DSP? I don't think "this guy" you spoke to knows jack.
