Head unit = Black screen

Installed a Pioneer MVH-200EX

Occassionally when I turn on the car, the screen is black. The buttons are illuminated, and I can tell the screen is on, it is just all black. The sound/music works.

If I unplug the head unit for 10 seconds and plug it back in, the screen works again, but then it acts up like 2-3 restarts are that.

What could this be??
