Well my cousin Kelly has 3 boxers and she breeds them all the time and she does it for just the money. Makes me sick! Matter of fact she had a falling out with her now ex and was living back with her mom and took the dogs with here and this huge *** cage that goes outside and they are a rowdy bunch. One is 5, the other 3 and the little one is going on a year now. From what I have seen with those dogs it makes me thank god I never decided to go with that breed. Just need a lot of attention, almost too much and chew on everything and very, very hyper. Just not my breed. I thought it was just here, but my fiances' friend has 2 of them as well and are excatly the same way which leads me to believe that is just how the breed is.

Everytime he coughs i smack him on the nose.

He wasn't a pound rescue, some lady was just trying to get rid of him. I dont believe he was taken care of well though, or would've lasted long. When i picked him up he had feces matted up in his hair and a horrible case of worms which made him miserable. He has had a few problems, the last of which was parvo. The charm of having a free dog has long since faded, caring for him has become very expensive but i believe we're almost out of the woods and every dollar has certainly been worth it. The vet here has been great as well.

Its strange. We got her from a friend of ours that used to breed them as well. And when we got her she was incredibly anti social, mean, and hyper. Since we got her by herself she is probably the most mellow dog i've ever seen. Incredibly kind and affectionate. Plays very well and never gives anyone a hard time aside from barking at the occasional stranger outside. All she wants to do is lay by someone and her world is set. So yes, i definitely understand where you're coming from, however they are great dogs when given the right environment and compassion. VERY good with children too.

It's probably not a good idea to judge a breed by individuals you see in a puppy factory. But I do agree that the breed is not for everyone. They are extremely social and energetic. If you want a dog that would rather play than eat, the boxer may be the right choice. If you expect for your dog to get about 15 minutes of companionship a day, then do yourself and the dog a favor and go a different route.
